Acceptable Use Policy and Conditions of Use. Last updated: 15 June 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy and Conditions of Use (“AUP”) defines the rules and conditions that govern your access to and use (including transmission, processing, and storage of data) of the RAISE Forum (“the Services”), as granted by EGI Foundation (“the Granting Authority”), for the purpose of supporting communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the RAISE community (Resource for AI Science in Europe) and the wider community working on artificial intelligence in science. The Forum is delivered by the SCIANCE project.

The additional conditions set out in “Additional conditions for the RAISE Forum” below supplement, and must be read together with, clauses 1 to 10. They do not replace or contradict those clauses, whose wording and numbering are not changed.

Acceptable Use Policy and Conditions of Use

  1. You shall only use the Services in a manner consistent with the purposes and limitations described above; you shall show consideration towards other users including by not causing harm to the Services; you have an obligation to collaborate in the resolution of issues arising from your use of the Services.
  2. You shall only use the Services for lawful purposes and not breach, attempt to breach, nor circumvent administrative or security controls.
  3. You shall respect intellectual property and confidentiality agreements.
  4. You shall protect your access credentials (e.g. passwords, private keys or multi-factor tokens); no intentional sharing is permitted.
  5. You shall keep your registered information correct and up to date.
  6. You shall promptly report known or suspected security breaches, credential compromise, or misuse to the security contact stated below; and report any compromised credentials to the relevant issuing authorities.
  7. Reliance on the Services shall only be to the extent specified by any applicable service level agreements listed below. Use without such agreements is at your own risk.
  8. Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the privacy statements referenced below.
  9. Your use of the Services may be restricted or suspended, for administrative, operational, or security reasons, without prior notice and without compensation.
  10. If you violate these rules, you may be liable for the consequences, which may include your account being suspended and a report being made to your home organisation or to law enforcement.

Additional conditions for the RAISE Forum

  1. Ownership of, and licence to, your content. You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you submit to the Forum (including posts, topics, replies, messages, images and files). By submitting content, you grant EGI Foundation and the operators of the Forum a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, publish and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Forum and making it available to other users. This licence ends when your content is removed from the Forum, except to the extent that copies remain in routine backups, caches or logs until they expire. You may additionally release your contributions under a public licence of your choosing (for example a Creative Commons licence); any such licence continues to apply according to its own terms.
  2. Responsibility for your content. You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You confirm that you hold all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the licence in clause 11, and that it does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or confidentiality rights of any third party. You shall not misrepresent the authorship of content or imply that your content is endorsed by EGI Foundation, the SCIANCE project or the RAISE community.
  3. Prohibited content and conduct. You shall not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory, that contains malicious code, or that constitutes spam or unsolicited advertising. You shall not impersonate another person, harvest other users’ personal data, create accounts solely to reserve an identifier, or attempt to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Forum or its underlying infrastructure.
  4. Confidentiality of restricted content. You shall respect the confidentiality of private messages and of any material shared in restricted or members-only areas of the Forum, and you shall not republish or redistribute such content without the permission of the persons concerned.
  5. Acknowledgement. Where you reuse data, outputs or materials made available through the RAISE community or the SCIANCE project, you shall provide appropriate acknowledgement and citation.
  6. Moderation and reporting. Content may be moderated. The operators may edit, move, hide or remove content, and may decline to store or reproduce content, where this AUP or applicable law is breached, including in response to a substantiated intellectual-property takedown request. Restriction or suspension of accounts is addressed in clause 9. To report content that infringes your rights or otherwise breaches this AUP, contact the administrative contact below.
  7. Reuse of contributions in project outputs. In addition to the licence in clause 11, you grant EGI Foundation and the SCIANCE project a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use the content you post in public areas of the Forum to inform, and to reproduce or quote it in, the outputs of the RAISE community and the SCIANCE project, including the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), project reports and deliverables, and related publications, in aggregated, summarised or quoted form. This licence does not extend to private messages or to content shared in restricted or members-only areas.
  8. Attribution. Where your individual contribution is quoted or directly reused in such an output and is reasonably attributable to you, you will be credited by the name or username on your account, unless you have asked not to be credited or the contribution is used only in aggregated or anonymised form. Where you have released a contribution under a public licence (for example a Creative Commons licence), that licence and its attribution terms are respected. Nothing in this clause obliges EGI Foundation or the SCIANCE project to use any contribution.
